A prestigious award that recognizes the excellence in research of students throughout their PhD Program.

Funded by an endowment from Milton and Rosalind Chang, this program provides 10 merit-based grants per year worldwide.


A selective merit-based grant offered by SPIE to support student members with travel expenses.


Achieved a top 3 finalist position for presenting a theoretical paper amidst a competitive selection.


An annual award for outstanding students (around 10 per year worldwide) based on research record and potential within the photonics field.

Awarded based on the potential long-term contributions of recipients to the fields of optics and photonics.
